Soho nightclub in Ferndale to host benefit for victims of the Orlando shooting

In light of the mass shooting at an Orlando, Florida nightclub, Ferndale businesses are coming together to raise money for the victims of the attack and their families. 

The benefit starts tonight at 8 p.m. at the Soho nightclub located in downtown Ferndale.

Soho will match donations up to $1,000 and Soho owner, Tom Pearlman, will also personally match donations up to $1,000.

Former Oakland County Commissioner Craig Covey is hosting the event alongside Pearlman.

"We want to help our fellow community members and their families in Orlando, and this is one way to send love and caring during this tragic time," Covey said. 

Attendees can make a donation or bid on various items donated by local businesses including Valentine Vodka, The WAB, Green Space Cafe,The Emory and Schramm's Mead and Candle Wick Shoppee.

All donations go directly to victims and families through theEquality Florida Pulse Victim Fund.
