Police solve case of injured dog in St. Clair County, woman arraigned

A woman has been arraigned in the case of an injured dog found in the area of Wadhams Rd. and Dove Rd. in Kimball Township on August 15. 

Jennifer Visga, 31, was arraigned on one count of Animal Cruelty/Failure to Provide Care, a 93-day misdemeanor. 

The dog, a young pit bull mix, was found by two Good Samaritans and underwent surgery for her multiple wounds.

The puppy, named Amari by the people who found her, had severe injuries and developed gangrene from open wounds.

Visga's preliminary hearing date is set for Sept. 11. She was released on a personal recognizes bond.

The Port Huron Police Department Animal Control Officer and the Neighborhood Enforcement Team assisted in the investigation.
