HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — Highland Park Police confirm to 7 Action News allegations of possible police misconduct could be seen on three body cam videos recorded when officers responded to a 911 call about a rape on April 4. This will be part of a Michigan State Police investigation into both parts of the case.

A woman we are not identifying says this new development, “That is great news. Great News.”

She says she was drugged, tied up with a cord around her neck and raped in her own home and that when police arrived, the man nicknamed June Bug was still there and described the interaction, “You June Bug? Hi. Started laughing. I’m telling them, wait, wait, wait, are you serious? I’m trying to show you that they did something to me.”

She says it wasn’t until two days later that a detective came back for physical evidence.

As we were talking, someone showed up at the front door saying, “I came here to express myself with the TV to let them know, I’m not the guilty party.”

It was Richard Davis, who saw our TV truck knowing he is the one accused. He says on the day of the incident Highland Park Police did not take him into custody, they let him walk and drove him to his daughter’s house.

He says the 44-year-old woman accusing him has been his girlfriend for six months. We had this exchange on camera:

Davis: It was my birthday. Yeah we had sex. We both did. Why is she saying I raped her?
Kiertzner: Did you?
Davis: No I didn’t.
Kiertzner: Was she awake?
Davis: Yes, she was.
Kiertzner: She was conscious and said it was okay?
Davis: She said okay. So, she wasn’t asleep.

The woman responds, “No he wasn’t my boyfriend. He tells everybody that’s my little girlfriend. He’s 63. Come on, you know what I’m saying.”

Michigan State Police will interview both of them and Highland Park Police. It is not known how long this investigation will take.
