When a picture of a puppy found in a garbage can was posted on Facebook by Patricia Trevino, a lot of people thought the puppy had passed away. But he was alive and Trevino, who heads up the River Rouge Animal Shelter, was desperate for a rescue to take the puppy in for emergency care.
The puppy was named "Aaron" after a city worker who was key in the rescue of the emaciated puppy that investigators don't think could have survived even 30 more minutes had he not been been discovered by a man mowing a lawn nearby.
Gretchen Sommer, with Lucky Day Animal Rescue, drove from Grand Blanc to River Rouge to pick up the puppy and rush him to an emergency care veterinarian.
And now, a little more than two weeks later, Aaron is making remarkable strides in his recovery.
