Spirit Airlines has moved its entire operation from their headquarters in Florida to Romulus.

The airline was forced to cancel about 500 flights last week, including all of their flights to Florida on Saturday night.

Spirit is hoping that moving its headquarters to metro Detroit will help travelers get the help they need.

More than 200 Spirit employees and their families were flown in. The employees are working 12-hour shifts to keep everything moving smoothly.

The airline is not sure when it's operations will return to Florida.

All airports throughout Florida are closed as of Sunday morning, including Tampa, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale.
