The suspect involved with the explosion in the Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn was arraigned on Thursday.

David Allen Cerne, 42, was arraigned in the 19th District Court by Judge Mark Somers.

On August 23, an explosive was thrown into the chapel of the Divine Child Church and exploded, burning a Bible. No parishioners were injured.

Cerne was also arraigned on additional Dearborn charges relating to a second incident involving explosives placed in a trash can on August 23.

Bond was set at $100,000 cash on both cases and a probable cause conference was scheduled for Sept. 8. A preliminary exam has also been scheduled for Sept. 15.

Cerne was arrested back in January in connection to racial vandalism, after cars were found spray painted with swastikas and racial slurs.
