An Oakland County man is facing charges after leading police on a chase, getting away, but then posting about the experience on Facebook.
Michael Brown, 33, turned himself in to Lake Orion Police on Tuesday after learning a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the Lake Orion Police Department.
Police say the 33-year-old Rochester man was leaving the Sagebrush Cantina restaurant on July 2 when he performed a "loud and aggressive brake torque" similar to burning out on his motorcycle. When police tried to pull him over, Brown sped off, according to police.
Officers lost sight of him, but, later, they did catch sight of something else: a Facebook post.
The post, from Brown, reads in part: "I showed up some hardleys at the bar in orion they made noise I took it a step beyond cop seen me put his car right at my foot. Flicked his lights as soon as I heard his car hit park I dropped into gear and disappeared 45 sec. Chase. 140 in a 35mph."
He then signed his post with three hashtags, #ftp, #nojailthisweekend #everyonelovedit.
The 33-year old was arraigned on July 26 and now faces one count of fleeing a police officer and one count of reckless driving.
He's due back in court next week.
