Call it a demolition debacle.
Bruce Waters was excited to have the burned out eyesore next door finally torn down.
That is, until the job was never finished.
In October, 7 Action News covered his story. At the time, a spokesperson for the Detroit Land Bank Authority said the contractor hired to do the job fell behind schedule due to equipment problems and promised the job would be completed within the next few weeks.
A crew did haul away the demolition debris, but then work stopped, creating a new problem - the hole in the ground.
