Making a deal with an illegal dumper

Posted

When a landscaping employee decided to illegally dump his load of debris in the Brightmoor community, he didn’t think he would get caught.  But he did - by camera crusader Jonathan Pommerville.

Pommerville has been on a mission for more than a year to clean up his neighborhood and he does it with a video camera.

The Detroit resident routinely catches people in illegal acts, including prostitution and illegal dumping.

Hoping to curb the illegal activity, he started confronting the wrong-doers with his video camera, recording and then posting the encounters on his YouTube channel.  Despite his media exposure, including on national television, the illegal activity hasn’t stopped.

Friday afternoon, Pommerville’s dad was driving in the neighborhood when he spotted a white landscaping truck pull over to a vacant lot and drop a load of debris. He picked up his son and they searched the neighborhood.

Within minutes, they spotted the truck and got the driver to pull over.
