ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The reported attempted abduction of a 7-year-old girl at a bus stop earlier today in Roseville has turned out to be false.

Police originally said the 7-year-old girl told them she was waiting at the bus stop near Meier and Brinker around 7:55 a.m. when a man approached, told her to get in his van and grabbed her. The child apparently told police she was able to break free and run to her house.

Police later said this report turned out to be false, and the victim recanted her story. The victim's mother reportedly said the child didn't want to go to school.
