Extremely mild temperatures this week could give way to severe storms Friday afternoon.
7 First Alert Meteorologist Dave Rexroth says a vigorous area of low-pressure, combined with a cold-front, will move across metro Detroit on Friday.
That system will bring a strong chance for thunderstorms, which may turn severe Friday evening and into Friday night.
High winds are expected and could reach up to 60 mph and cause damage to trees and power lines. Those living near the Ohio border have the greatest risk.
The biggest risks for metro Detroiters is lightning, heavy downpours and damaging wind.
