(WXYZ) — Shelby Township police say the missing elderly couple, both with dementia, have been found. The endangered missing advisory has been canceled.

Police say Earnest Alband, 84, and Orlanda Alband, 76, both have suspected dementia. They were reported missing Tuesday morning.

The two were last seen leaving the Kroger at 25 Mile and Dequindre at around 7:30 p.m. Monday. The were driving a 1999 white Dodge Caravan with the Michigan license plate DHT9084.

However, the plate was run by Detroit police at around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The driver of the vehicle was then given a citation at around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday by Troy police in the area of southbound Rochester Road near Big Beaver.

Police say both Earnest and Orlanda did not taken their medications before being reported missing, and had not contacted family members.

Officers say Ernest has had prior incidents where he had become lost and confused.

The couple have been located and returned home safely, according to Shelby Township police.
