(WXYZ) — It's been a messy day on the roads but many have been waiting for it to arrive since November! While snow and ice covers streets, it’s also filling bank accounts, fattening wallets and lighting a fire inside winter-lovers' hearts.

As Snowpocalypse 2020 struck this January weekend, dumping truckloads of snow, many heard the message loud and clear – winter is here!

For Sam from Lucia Landscaping, all the white means a whole lot of green.

"We’ve been out since 2:40 a.m. this morning working on the apartments, and we got a lot to do still," Sam said.

While private companies tackle parking lots, city and county crews work to clear the roads.

So Barry's decision to break out the snowmobile made sense! And he got a lot of support from other drivers on the road.

Big snowfalls like this one can definitely breed problems, but it can also be an excuse not to go to the gym.

"Shoveling the snow is hard work, good for the body you know," said one resident.

Remember to pace yourself because after waiting months for this winter wonderland to arrive, your inner child may be hard to tame!

"Making snowmen and playing in the snow," said one snow lover. "Just giant fun it’s a lot of fun."
