UPDATE: The little girl has been located, according to the Southfield Police Department.
She was found safe at home with her mother and father.
The person in the photo taking her out of the store was her father. He had taken his daughter shopping to purchase a jacket and hat.
The daughter did not like the hat her father had purchased, so she began yelling "stranger danger" as she was leaving.
Detectives went to the family's home and confirmed the identities of everyone involved, verifying that the child was safe.
She was also talked to about the consequences of yelling "stranger danger" when it was not true.

The Southfield Police Department is asking for the public's help to help check on the welfare of a little girl who was seen leaving the Burlington Coat Factory with an unknown man.
The man and little girl were seen leaving the store around 11:00 a.m. on October 31. The young girl is described as an African-American female between 4-6 years of age.
She was seen wearing a bright pink hoodie, and light-colored leggings. Police say she may also be wearing a purple knit Disney princess hat and matching gloves. Her hair is braided and has white beads.
Witnesses say child was struggling with the man, screaming 'stranger danger' and began to hit the man. He reportedly had a tight grip on the child. A witness also said that the man would tell the child how he knew her father when they get in the car.
The man is an African-American male, approximately 40-60 years old, around 6’0” tall with a medium build, balding and a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black oversized jacket, a light-colored hoodie and baggy black pants.
The man and child got in a silver 4-door sedan with either a North Carolina or South Carolina license plate with partial letter DK. The vehicle headed southbound on Southfield Road.
The Southfield Police Department has not received reports of a missing child.
