A Southgate woman has re-united with her service dog, just a day after watching the 14 week-old puppy get stolen before her very eyes.
On Tuesday night, Jessica Sutliff was just heading outside to pick up her dog who was on a leash just outside her door, when she saw someone running away with her dog and forcing it into an unmarked black van.
The incident sent Sutliff into a panic. But on Wednesday, the perpetrator mysteriously let the dog go, left to be found by a resident in her apartment complex.
And today, Sutliff is re-uniting with the pet that may one day save her life.
Sutliff suffers from a brain injury that causes seizures -- and the dog, she says, is meant to help her determine when those episodes are coming.
Today, she tells WXYZ that she's thankful and relieved to have that service dog back by her side.
