Surveillance camera captures deadly hit-and-run

Posted

Detroit Police are searching for the driver of the vehicle that struck and killed Konata Warren, 43, as he was about to walk across Puritan at Meyers on Detroit's west side.

The deadly hit-and-run that occurred around 7:50 Thursday night was captured on a nearby surveillance camera.

Warren appears to be standing just a few feet off the curb, waiting for vehicles to pass, when one vehicle slams into him, sending Warren into the air.

Warren leaves behind a teenage daughter. And relatives say her mother died from cancer about a year ago.

Warren's family has set up a GoFundMe account for anyone interested in helping with funeral costs.

Anyone with information on the driver or vehicle involved is urged to call Detroit Police.
