REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Redford Township police have arrested a suspect in the alleged sexual assault of a child at a park this week. Sources tell 7 Action News that it happened in Lola Park on Garfield near Beech Daly.
We're told a passerby saw a man sexually assaulting a child, and police caught the suspect in the act. He was arrested.
According to police, the suspect is known to the child and it was not a random act. The boy is now with his parents.
WWJ is reporting that the boy is 3 years old and the suspect is 17 years old, and is believed to have some "developmental issues," but police still say he is in custody.
