I-75 drivers rejoice! MDOT says the three lanes of southbound I-75 will open by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 between M-59 and Coolidge Highway.
It is the beginning of the final stage of construction on phase one of the Modernize 75 project. This first phase is part of an ongoing $91.8 million investment to reconstruct I-75 between Coolidge Highway and South Boulevard.
While three lanes will be open southbound, two lanes will be open northbound.
The following ramp closures will continue through mid-September:
- The Adams Road entrance ramp to northbound I-75,
- The Adams Road ramp to southbound I-75,
- The northbound I-75 exit to westbound Square Lake Road,
- The eastbound Square Lake Road entrance to northbound I-75, and
- The eastbound M-59 ramp to southbound I-75.
