In our Thursday’s Top 7, we're spotlighting the best activities, event and places across Metro Detroit.

And with the 4th of July just days away, this morning we’re spotlighting the top places to buy fireworks!

Hundreds of you voted and here are the Top 7 shops where you can get everything you need for your fireworks display to go off with a bang!

From the dazzling displays to the chest rattling booms, summer’s here and it’s time to celebrate but where do you go get the fireworks that will star in your backyard display?

In our online viewer poll, hundreds of you said the best place to go is Red Apple Fireworks, formerly Motor City Fireworks! They opened in Detroit back in 1979. They have locations across metro Detroit including Waterford and Flint and pop-up tents.  Robert Adams of Monroe says variety makes this his go to place.

“Well, Red Apple has so many different options and all the people that are here they know so many things about the items.”

Michael Burda of Red Apple says that's no mistake.

“Pretty much everything in the store that has the Red Apple logo on it was designed and picked out personally by me and my family,” he said.

XL Fireworks in Sterling Heights also scored high in our poll. Co-owner Dolores Guy took us on a tour of the shop, where you can get whatever you need for the occasion. Have a baby reveal? Gotcha covered.

From a whole two hour fireworks extravaganza, to something for the kids.

"Our parents used to take us to see fireworks and it was all about families and gatherings and barbecuing", says Guy.

Southgate Fireworks came in third. Google reviewer Graveytrain says, “Fantastic place to shop. Excellent selection and every single firework I've ever bought went boom! No duds here.”

In fourth place is Michigan Fireworks Company in South Lyon. One customer raves in their Google review: “Great selection, wonderful owners who really appreciate their customers, highly recommended.”

Howell is where we find Jeff's Fireworks. Not close? Well it may be worth the trip according to this review. “It's an hour away but i'm already planning on going back. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful.”

Set It Off Fireworks can't be missed with strong reviews, like “Amazing experience. I went in and not only did they have the best prices around but the customer service was fantastic.”

Jamie McMaster says Victory Fireworks in Monroe will have you doing a victory dance! “Has a lot of excellent products with everything buy 1 get 1 free, and doing buy 1 get 2 free on some things.”
