Detroit police say they have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting his nephew following an argument on Friday afternoon.

According to police, James Graham, 48, got into an argument with his 16-year-old nephew outside of a home in the 9000 block of Ward around 4 p.m. Friday.

During the argument, Graham allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot, hitting his nephew in the body. The teen was rushed to the hospital where he passed away over the weekend.

Graham was on the run for several days before being arrested late Monday night.

Lenna Pridgen said it was her son, 16-year-old Freland, who was shot. She tells 7 Action News he was visiting his grandmother when the incident occurred.
