The Wayne State University community is giving everyone a chance to join in honoring Officer Collin Rose.
Officer Rose died last Wednesday after he was shot while investigating a string of burglaries in an off campus neighborhood.
We've already witnessed the impact the 29-year old officer had on the lives of the students, teachers and staff at the university as well as those in the neighborhoods around campus.
Tonight, WSU and the WSU Police Department invites everyone to honor the fallen officer on campus.
The vigil will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the flag poles in Gullen Mall on the university's campus. That's northeast of the David Adamany Undergraduate Library in the center of campus.
The vigil will also include a moment of silence at 6:30 p.m., marking the moment Officer Rose was shot in the line of duty.
If you're not able to make it tonight, there is a visitation tomorrow at Ford Field.
It begins at 11 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m., and then from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kaul Funeral Home. That's on Jefferson in St. Clair Shores.
Officer Rose will be laid to rest Thursday following his funeral at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with mass following at 11 a.m.
