Van Buren Township Police confirms that Sumpter Road is closed between Industrial Road and Daisy, bordering Belleville and Van Buren Township, due to a water main break.
The break was first reported at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Repair crews working to fix the break struck a gas line in the process. The gas line repair has been completed, and the Great Lakes Water Authority says the water main has been fixed, too.
While repairs are completed, workers are still going to keep an eye on water quality. About 11 customers will remain off city water until the system is flushed out.
