Waterford nonprofit D.R.A.W. responds to Alabama tornado devastation

(WXYZ) — People in Lee County, Alabama only had minutes to prepare for a deadly 170 mile per hour tornado. Now they are working to recover from unthinkable loss.

The organization Disaster Relief at Work or D.R.A.W., in Waterford, is working to help.

The nonprofit features a coffee shop where the baristas make coffee that funds emergency response efforts. They also are on standby to respond to disaster zones.

Right now, workers from D.R.A.W. are in Lee County, Alabama, assessing the need. They took buckets of emergency supplies and plan to deliver more in the coming days or weeks.
