Wayne County Sheriff's deputy accused of sexually assaulting child

A Wayne County Sheriff's deputy was officially arraigned today after he admitted to sexually assaulting a child.

Sgt. Thomas Pedersen is facing three counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a person under the age of 13 and one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct.

We've learned that he's been a Wayne County deputy since 1995.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office alleges he committed an on-going, inappropriate sexual conduct with a child. It's alleged that this was going on since at least 2010.

A probable cause conference has been set for November 29 at 1:30 p.m.
