Westbound I-696 is closing Saturday in Oakland County while the eastbound lanes will close Sunday, the Michigan Department of Transportation says.
According to MDOT, westbound I-696 will close from Coolidge Highway to Greenfield Rd. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday for bridge inspection. The ramps from Woodward and Coolidge will also be closed.
MDOT says the eastbound lanes will also close from Greenfield to Coolidge, this time from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday with the ramps from Southfield Rd. and Evergreen Rd. closing.
The easiest detour, according to 7 Traffic Reporter Ann Marie LaFlamme is to take 8 Mile or 12 Mile around the closure.
