JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police say a suspect attempted to abduct a 24-year-old woman in Hillsdale County Friday, but she was able to fight him off.

The incident occurred Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. Hillsdale County Sheriff's Deputies report that a woman was in the area of Blackbridge and Hudson roads in Jefferson Township when a white male suspect in a truck stopped, grabbed the victim and tried to pull her into his vehicle. The woman was walking home from Davis's Economy Station and Dollar General near M-99 and M-34 when the attempted abduction happened.

The suspect allegedly struck the woman in the face and said, "it will be easy" and "get into the truck." The victim fought her attacker off and was able to escape to her home.

Police say the suspect's vehicle was last seen heading south on Pioneer Road toward Ohio.

Deputies are now looking for a white man who is 6 feet tall and weighs 300 to 400 pounds. The suspect is balding with extremely short hair on the sides of his head. Police say the victim also indicated that the suspect has a large nose, several missing teeth and the teeth he did have were broken and discolored.

The suspect's vehicle is an early 1990s Dodge Ram Regular Cab Pickup, short box. It's dark blue in color, although in the surveillance image of the vehicle from a business in the area the car appears red because of a faulty camera, the business owner said. The vehicle is extremely rusted and has a confederate flag sticker covering the entire rear window. The truck also has out of state license plates.

A police sketch of the suspect was provided by the Michigan State Police Forensic Artist Division.
