HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Don't be alarmed if you hear gunshots and sirens this week.

The Selfridge Air National Guard Base wants to inform neighbors of military exercises being conducted at the base in the coming days.

Officials say the exercises "may include the use of sirens, loudspeakers and simulated gunfire."

Again, residents or people near the base may be able to hear some of the sounds but should not be alarmed.

The Michigan Air National Guard conducts training exercises on a regular basis to ensure that local Airmen are able to appropriately respond to a wide range of scenarios.
