WATCH: Hamilton happy to share in Billups' night

AUBURN HILLS, MICH. (WXYZ) -- This season the Pistons have retired the numbers of Ben Wallace and Chauncey Billups.

And if you ask Billups, Hamilton should be next.

"Rip has to be next," Billups told reporters during a pre-game press conference.

After the game, Hamilton was flattered by his former teammate's endorsement.

"Wow, I mean, that's my bro," Hamilton told Kacie Hollins. "We felt like when we came here together, we pushed each other every day. We felt like one wouldn't have been great without the other. So when he says that, I'm happy to share the backcourt with him."

Hamilton was quick to share the praise when asked about the idea of the entire 2004 starting five ending up in the Palace rafters.

"We love each other. We've got each other's backs. We don't believe in individual accolades. We believe everything is us as a team."
