The ChadTough Foundation announced on Wednesday it is making a $1.5 million gift over three years to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.
The gift is part of a joint effort to raise $30 million in honor of the late Chad Carr, who died from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma last year.
It will all go to help accelerate pediatric brain tumor research at the University of Michigan.
"We have so many amazing, generous people in our lives who are committed to making a difference in Chad's name, and we're so glad the difference will happen at Mott," Tammi Carr said.
According to ChadTough, the hospital is also working to recruit a DIPG reseracher.
