Pearson, who has been the head coach at Michigan Tech since 2011, spent the previous 23 seasons as an assistant under Red Berenson at Michigan. Berenson announced his retirement earlier this month.
Pearson has earned WCHA Coach of the Year honors twice during his time at Michigan Tech.
