DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Flint native and two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields is returning to Detroit for a fight in June.
Shields will face Mery Rancier for the WBC Silver Super Middleweight Championship on June 16 at the Masonic Temple.
Shields (2-0, 1 KO) beat Szilvia Szabados by knockout in March at MGM Grand Detroit, the first women's fight to headline a boxing card on premium cable.
Rancier (7-8-3, 5 KOs), a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is coming off a unanimous-decision loss to undefeated WBC Super Middleweight Champion Nikki Adler in March.
