ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- The Lions announced Sunday that Ernie Accorsi will remain with the team as a special advisor to president Rod Wood.

The Lions originally hired Accorsi in November to consult on the search for a new general manager.

During a conference call with reporters, Accorsi said there is no update on Jim Caldwell's status, emphasizing that the decision lies with new general manager Bob Quinn.

When asked about the decision to hire Quinn, Accorsi told reporters that Quinn's "body of work" was a major selling point. Accorsi added that team owner Martha Ford was involved in every step of the process.

The team is scheduled to introduce Quinn at a press conference at 2 p.m. Monday.

Regarding his new duties, Accorsi said that while he will be available to Wood in any capacity needed, he does not plan to have an office at Ford Field or travel with the team.
