Jimmy Howard's conditioning start in Grand Rapids didn't go well on Wednesday night.
The Red Wings goaltender left in the middle of the third period during the Griffins game. He was favoring his leg, MLive's Pete Wallner reports.
Howard was checked by doctors, Wallner reported. "He 'felt a tweak,' but everything is okay," he tweeted.
Howard struggled in his first conditioning stint with Grand Rapids over the weekend, allowing five goals, but had allowed only one goal to Manitoba before leaving with an apparent injury.
He has been out of the Red Wings lineup since December.
