Tammi and Jason Carr have fielded plenty of calls of support for the Chad Tough Foundation since its birth just over a year ago, some are straight to the point, others, well maybe a bit different.

"I got off the phone and said 'Tammi some guys just called but we'll never hear from him again," Jason Carr recalled.

"Who's this guy who's going to walk from Philadelphia to Ann Arbor in Chad's name," Tammi said.

But the odd call from months ago was completed today, as Jim Burns completed his 37 day journey by being welcomed to the Big House by a family built there.

"He took care of me every step and I know he's going to be apart of me forever and it's just the greatest feeling you can have," Jim Burns said. "I would tap into Chad anytime I would get tired, and I'm talking 10, 15, 20 times and I'd say, 'Chad I'm really hungry l, the water supply is getting low, boom, within a mile there was a town with a place to eat."

"I never believed 600 miles for some guy that we have no connection to, don't know, it's pretty incredible," Jason added.

Chad Tough is all about raising awareness for DIPG, so When Jim started walking and talking with the people he met, he found that they were not only willing to listen but help in anyway they could.

"When people were willing to open up their hearts they didn't just open them, they ripped them open for me and gave me so much encouragement and kept saying, 'I can't believe what you're doing, this is the greatest thing ever!' To realize that you are making an impact is the greatest feeling ever," Burns added.

"That's where we know that we're doing the right thing in creating this foundation and keeping Chad's name alive because these things, we're not creating them, they're happening organically, people are being inspired and doing this on their own, we're not making this happen," Tammi added.
