SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WXYZ) -- Oakland University alumnus Brian Stuard shot -9 in a 36-hole qualifier Monday to earn a spot in the 2017 U.S. Open.
This will be Stuard's third U.S. Open appearance.
Stuard was one of four players at the Sectional Qualifier in Springfield to earn a spot for the Open, which will take place June 15-18 at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.
Stuard finished tied for 36th at the 2017 Masters Tournament.
