J.D. Martinez told reporters Wednesday that he has a sprained ligament in his foot, but that he hopes to be ready for Opening Day on April 3.
Martinez hurt himself last Saturday in the Tigers game against the Marlins.
He told reporters that he is able to put weight on it and that is a a very encouraging sign.
Martinez will get another MRI Friday, and should have a better guess at whether or not he'll be ready for April 3 when those results come in.
