The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division will be conducting a statewide tornado drill at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
During the drill the outdoor warning sirens in communities throughout the state may be activated for testing.
Those sirens are controlled by the communities in which they are located, so they could be activated as part of the test.
Alerts will also be broadcast on participating TV and radio stations, as well as on NOAA Weather Radios. This includes on our Storm Shield app.
The test is part of Michigan's Severe Weather Awareness week.
