Just like the two Head Start schools reported earlier and a Woodhaven strip mall, the University of Detroit Mercy Engineering School received a faxed-in bomb threat today. None of the threats were credible, police say.

A U of D official said the building was briefly evacuated.

Police say the scene has been cleared. They believe the east side threats are connected to an incident at a Woodhaven strip mall reported earlier today.

Police say it all stems from an ominous fax being received at locations across the country that demands a $25,000 payment.

Two Head Start programs have been evacuated following a bomb threat nearby the locations on the city's east side.

Police are on the scene in the 13500 block of McNichols.

K-9 units and the bomb squad are currently sweeping the area.

Here are the two schools that have been evacuated:

- Mt. Zion Head Start Program on East McNichols Road

- Mt. Calvary United Children Head Start program on Chalmers Street
