(WXYZ) — There are now 58,999 cases of coronavirus in Michigan and 5,673 deaths from COVID-19 in the state, according to the latest numbers released by the State of Michigan on Monday.

That's up 127 cases and 17 deaths from Sunday. 42,041 have recovered from the virus, and that number was just updated on Saturday.

On Sunday, only four new deaths were reported, the lowest in nearly three months.

There are 11,200 active cases in the state, which is down from nearly 14,000 last week, and more than 30,000 back on April 24.

On Monday, restaurants and bars were allowed to re-open in the state with capacity restrictions.

Several other types of businesses are expected to open in the next week. Learn more about that here.
