DETROIT (WXYZ) — Crews battled a deadly house fire on Detroit's east side early Thursday morning.
On Jan. 30 around 2:47 a.m. in the 14200 block of Mayfield, an unknown suspect threw an object inside the home. Police say this caused the house to catch on fire.
Four victims were able to escape, but a 41-year-old male victim was discovered dead inside the residence, according to police.

Family members confirmed with 7 Action News reporter Ali Hoxie that the man who died in the fire was 41-year-old Leo Garrett, pictured on the right.
