Incredible reunion for two Vietnam veterans after almost 50 years

Posted

It has been nearly 50 years since American heroes, Dan Mazzola and Robert Middleton, began their friendship on the battlefields of Vietnam.

They were reunited in person for the first time in almost five decades through a website, and they recalled a bond they formed in the toughest of times.

Mazzola and Middleton said it began with a mutual respect, something they believe this country needs more of today.

They also met up with fellow Marine, Calvin Morrison Jr., who served in southeast Asia.

Morrison Jr. met Middleton through the Detroit chapter of the Montford Point Marines, an organization that honors the first African American Marines who served in World War II.

As part of the special reunion, the brave Marines took a tour of Detroit from high in the sky, with Calvin as the pilot.
