There are tears and sadness in the wake of the shooting tragedy in Kalamazoo - a community grieving for the victims. The accused gunman now faces life in prison.

The healing began with a powerful message from a candlelight vigil.

Within a few minutes of the doors opening at the church Monday night, it became standing room only. Everyone was there to begin the healing.

As part of the lengthy and somber candlelight vigil, hundreds of people pulled together and fought back tears.

Prior to heading outside, they attended a service inside the church where Kalamazoo’s mayor also spoke.

Jason Dalton, 45, admitted to killing six people and wounding two others in a Saturday night shooting spree.

No one at the vigil could fathom why the married father of two opened fire on his victims who ranged in age from 14 to 74 years old.
