Jason Malinas, 38, faced a judge for his sentencing on Friday morning. He and 41-year-old Jessica St. Clair from Wayne pleaded guilty to the charge. St. Clair will be sentenced later this month.
Gloria Kevelighan, 88, was parked in the handicap spot near the entrance of the Walmart on Plymouth Rd. in Livonia. She describes herself as a tough old broad - and her actions back it up.
She fought back during the robbery, hitting the man who attacked her with her cane. Still, she couldn’t hide how this incident shook her to her core.
“I can’t get it off my mind. I can’t sleep good at night. I am always afraid. I have to get back to my life. I can’t let fear control me,” she said through tears during a hearing.
“I was bruised everywhere. I couldn’t even lay on my left side. I still have bruises,” the victim described.
“I tried to turn around and sack him with my cane because I always said if anybody bothered me I’d use my cane,” said Gloria Kevelighan.
