It was a social media post discovered recently on Twitter, that's caused fear within the community.

In reference to the future site of an Islamic school & prayer sanctuary in Pittsfield Township, someone posted: "Let them build it then blow it up. When CAIR in basement having a gathering. Deserved rubble."

Dawud Walid, Executive Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations Michigan Chapter tell us, "The FBI was alerted about these posts, which we are taking very seriously."

Walid says the threats tie back to someone affiliated with a known hate group.

Authorities say they will investigate all credible threats & take this type of statement very seriously.

In the meantime, the Michigan Islamic Academy is moving forward with plans to break ground later this year, at the corner of Ellsworth and Golfside roads.
