A University of Michigan student is opening up about leaving campus to avoid getting sick.
Sophomore Francesca Bennett left school out of an abundance of caution, after more than 100 cases of students sickened with norovirus this week.
Her biggest fear is that fellow students aren't taking the situation seriously enough or following safety precautions to stop spread of norovirus.
It comes with flu like symptoms such as fever, vomiting and diarrhea.
University housing at West Quad and South Quad are two places where kids have gotten sick.
The virus is highly contagious. Students with symptoms are urged to stay in their rooms for 48 hours after symptoms subside and wash hands frequently.
Meals can be delivered.
Some mid term exams have also been adjusted and cleaning supplies distributed, but still Francesca won't be back till next week.
