Ladywood High School in Livonia will be closing after the 2017-2018 school year.
The school released a letter to current students and parents about the decision to close after the current school year, stating low enrollment over the last decade and beyond contributed to this decision.
The decision has come as a shock for many alumnae, like Heather Pebbles.
"I believe it's made me who I am today, given me the structure and foundation to be a successful therapist,” said Pebbles.
"Definitely a big shock,” she said.
