Christiana Ford

Reporter

Christiana Ford joined the 7 News Detroit Team in 2024.

From severe weather and murder trials to presidential campaigns and the plot to kill and kidnap the governor, Christiana has covered a wide range of news across the Midwest and prefers to dig into hidden issues that need to be brought into the light.

Christiana’s love of news developed at a very early age watching the local news every day with her grandmother (a nosy neighbor to some, but a true journalist to her). She went from watching to chasing local news vans with her mother.

That passion evolved into skill and took her from Lansing to Lexington, Kentucky, before landing her back home in Detroit.

In her free time, she loves to take hour-long walks with her Yorkie, create art, read, bake cupcakes and talk about Jesus.

Christiana is humbled and excited to continue serving the community where she grew up.

Christiana is a graduate of Kent State University in Ohio where she met the love of her life, Devonte, an Emma Bowen alumna, and a NABJ member.

While studying at her alma mater, Christiana worked in national newsrooms in New York and Washington D.C.
