(WXYZ) — A woman accused of assaulting and carjacking an 88-year-old woman outside of a Walmart in Livonia will be sentenced Monday morning.

Jessica St. Clair pleaded guilty for her role as an accomplice in the attack on Gloria Kevelighan.

Police say the 41-year-old jumped into the passenger side of Kevelighan's car after her co-defendant Jason Malinas threw the victim to the ground and snatched her purse and keys.

Kevelighan describes herself as a tough old broad - and her actions back it up.

She fought back during the robbery, hitting the man who attacked her with her cane. Still, she couldn’t hide how this incident shook her to her core.

“I can’t get it off my mind. I can’t sleep good at night. I am always afraid. I have to get back to my life. I can’t let fear control me,” she said through tears during a hearing.

“I was bruised everywhere. I couldn’t even lay on my left side. I still have bruises,” the victim described.

“I tried to turn around and sack him with my cane because I always said if anybody bothered me I’d use my cane,” said Gloria Kevelighan.
