Jeff Glover, the owner and broker of Glover Agency Realtors, had planned to give away 1,000 new Detroit Lions jerseys in exchange for a gently-used Matthew Stafford jersey.

Glover said he would then donate the turned-in jersey to homeless shelters in need of clothing for adults and kids in Los Angeles.

However, late Thursday night, Glover posted that the jersey exchange was canceled "at the request of the NFL.

In a post, Glover said "Due to the volume and process of the jersey exchange, they are not allowing us to go through with it tomorrow."

According to Kory Woods from MLive, the NFL said it stopped the jersey swap after they said Glover intended to use counterfeit jerseys and they halted it "in order to protect fans."
