TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Loved ones are mourning the loss of a beloved trainer and father, Anthony Kelley.

The 33 year-old was killed on his way to work early Wednesday morning when police say he lost control of his car along westbound M-14 near Gotfredson in Salem Township. They say Kelley was driving too fast for the icy road conditions.

Kelley worked at Red Effect's Troy and Ann Arbor locations.

His boss, John Mertz, told 7 Action News, "I just expect he's gonna come walking through the door any minute, be smiling and happy any minute. Then you remind yourself he's not going to be doing that."

David Cole works at Red Effect as a trainer too.

"Hands down. You ask anybody. He's just our best trainer. He never settled for less than great in that interval training room and everywhere he was at," says Cole.

Kelley was also a husband and father of five. His youngest, a baby girl, was born just two weeks ago.

Red Effect started a GoFundMe to raise money for Kelley's funeral and to help his family in any way they can.

"He was a very strong family man, strong faith and definitely wanted to be there for his kids. I know it's devastating for them," says Mertz.
